Only with the right mindset will you be successful in diaper training. Have you ever had those days where you just don’t have the motivation to stay diapered? Everyone has. What sets you aside from everyone else is how you act when given the choice between putting on the next diaper or not.
I’ve found that a lot of people like to give themselves a choice when they first start diaper training. By keeping their old undies, they give themselves a way out of diapers. If you truly want to be successful in training, you shouldn’t think like this because it gives the impression that wearing diapers is temporary or optional. Furthermore, you should heavily consider throwing away all of your panties or boxers. Doing this would keep you from having that backup option. If you had no other option but to put on another diaper, you would simply put on the next diaper. It takes two to four weeks to get used to a new habit and for it to feel normal, like it’s part of your day. If you can manage wearing diapers 24/7 for a month, that would be a huge step forward.
After that long in diapers, you should notice some loss of control and bladder capacity. That reduction in control, both during the night and day, will only help cement your dependence upon that which we love. If you ever suspect that you just wet without giving it conscious thought, there’s a decent chance that you did, especially if you’re months into training. You can take breaks from training but not from diapers. The point is to always give your body an easier way to take care of its needs. If you start using the potty again, you’re only reinforcing your old habits that we’re trying to break you out of.
You must remain positive and motivated at all times. Don’t let yourself grow weary with the day to day monotony. Just like maintaining a proper diet and exercising, taking it day by day is what’s best. Keep your goal in mind and make that a reality. Some may waver in their conviction and that’s okay. Most never untrain in just one go. I didn’t. I’ve found that most people train for a little bit, lose some control, then go back to their undies. Since we have this desire to be diapered that just never goes away, most can’t resist the urge to be diapered again so they go back to diapers and repeat the process of losing a little bit more control. Once you hit a certain point in this cycle, it becomes a slippery slope.
1: Throw away all of your underwear (but keep your bras if you’re a lady!). This leaves you nothing but diapers to wear as underwear, and as we all know, wearing nothing down there can lead to some irritation. Not good for princess parts! Throwing away all of your undies ensures that you’ll have to wear diapers, and nothing but diapers. If you want to truly commit to this, then do that, or if you’re on the fence about it and want to try it out, stash all of your undies in a backpack or something that you can lock or put a lock on, then give that key to your bestie and have them not give it back until a week, two weeks, a month, or however long you feel like! 1a. Buy a large supply of diapers. I chose to go with the Abena M4 for starters, and have kept with it all the way through. For when you start dribbling (see below!), you can switch to a thinner diaper, like the cloth backed Abena M2. For lighter days, I’ve found that tena makes some decent diapers, same with Tranquility/Select...
